Registered business

The official registered business name is Cove Core Expansion Advisory Pty Ltd. The practice was established in 2017 and remains based at 38 Eshelby Drive, Gumlow, Queensland.

Brief history

The firm began after its founding advisors spent years helping North Queensland operators weigh second sites while still running day-to-day trade. Early engagements were mostly readiness conversations for retailers and trade suppliers who had outgrown a single premises. By 2019 the work widened into full expansion assessments — catchment walks, competitor mapping, and capital sequencing — for clients across regional Queensland. Today the practice also supports selected engagements further afield when travel and local knowledge can be arranged responsibly.

Mission

Help regional owners expand only when place, people, and capital can carry the decision — and leave them with a brief their managers can execute without reinterpretation.

How we work

Discovery happens on the ground whenever possible. We interview the people who already hold the first site together, walk candidate catchments at trading hours, and write recommendations in plain language. Facilitation sessions are used when family firms or partnerships need shared decision rights before money moves.

Values in practice

  • Place before projection — local observation outweighs statewide averages.
  • Protect the first site — expansion that hollows out the original operation is a failure.
  • Write decision gates — owners should know when to pause as clearly as when to proceed.
  • Stay inside advisory — we do not sell construction, conveyancing, or finance products.

People

Engagements are led by senior advisors with backgrounds in regional operations, commercial property evaluation for owner-operators, and stakeholder facilitation. Associates support fieldwork, note synthesis, and brief production. Clients always know who is accountable for their engagement.
